Dear friends,

The fourth "When Koala Meets Panda" China-Australia Short Video Contest is officially launched and ready to solicit entries today! Since first held in 2017, the event has received wide support and participation in Australia, Queensland in particular, and has been especially popular with the youth. It has become an effective platform of our peoples to enhance understanding, friendship and cultural exchanges. We are grateful for all your active involvement.

At present, as the COVID-19 pandemic is raging, people's lives are affected to varying degrees. In these hard times when we have to maintain 'social distance', it's all the more necessary to narrow our psychological distance by more communication, understanding and friendship. We are so encouraged to continue to hold this event.

This year's contest is themed "spotting the similarities and differences between China and Australia". I hope we may take this opportunity to deepen our understanding, seek common ground while reserving differences, encourage and support each other when encountering difficulties. We believe that the pursuit of a happy life is the common aspiration of both 'panda' and 'koala'.

Let's work together to promote a sound and steady development of China-Australia relations!
