Consulate-General of People's Republic of China in Brisbane Launches Consular Assistance Voluntary Service
On 31st of October, the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Brisbane launched voluntary service for consular assistance and issued certificates to the volunteers. Consul-General Dr. Xu Jie,  Senior Police Liaison Officer Mr. Ken Rong and representatives of local Chinese community, Chinese companies and overseas students in Queensland attended the ceremony.
Dr. Xu said in his speech that the volunteers have undertaken a noble mission and great responsibility. He called upon them to learn more knowledge related to consular assistance, strictly observe local laws and rules, and mind the do's and don'ts. He also encouraged them to enhance communication and coordination with the Consulate-General and the Police Service, and unleash individual advantages to do a good job. He said the Chinese Consulate-General will continue improving the voluntary service system and increasing numbers of volunteers in order to achieve a better coverage of consular assistance for Chinese nationals. Representatives of the volunteers, police officers and local Chinese community also spoke at the ceremony.
Under the witness of the present guests, 6 volunteers executed Commitment Letter and received Appointment Certificate granted by Dr. Xu. The ceremony also launched the latest version of Queensland Visitor Guide for Chinese Citizens, updated by the Consulate-General.
