Consul-General Dr. Xu Jie Attends the Award Ceremony of The 4th China Australia International Film Festival

On 28th October, Consul-General Dr. Xu Jie attended the Award Ceremony of the 4th China Australia International Film Festival (CAIFF).


Ms. Tina Liu, Executive President of CAIFF and Director of VAC International Group, Mr. Duncan Pegg Member of Queensland State Parliament, Cr Kim Marx of Brisbane City Council and more than 1,000 other guests including producers, directors, and cast from film industry and cultural circle of both countries as well as locals were present at the event.

Finalists were interviewed and hailed when walking down the red carpet, and the ceremony began with Australian indigenous dance and contemporary Chinese and Australian dances. Dr. Xu, at the invitation of the Organizing Committee, presented the Best Film Award to "Wolf Warrior II" represented by Director Wu Jing, and the Most Popular Actor Award to Mr. Qiao Shan.

CAIFF has been successfully held for three years since 2014, said Dr. Xu in his interview, it provides a good platform for exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in film and TV industry as well as the cultural sector, and plays an important role in promoting Chinese arts and enhancing the understanding and friendship of the two peoples. Dr. Xu wished 4th CAIFF a greater success.

In total there were 8 Chinese films and 3 Australian films participating the competition for 18 award of CAIFF 2017. Industry insiders from China Film Association, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, "Wolf Warrior II" film crew, Zhujiang Film Group and Changchun Film Group also attended the ceremony.
