Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of Russia Jointly Meet the Press

On the morning of 22 October 2013, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev of Russia jointly met the press.

Li Keqiang introduced the consensus and outcomes reached at the 18th regular meeting between the Chinese and Russian Prime Ministers. He said that the cooperation between China and Russia is the cooperation between the two largest neighbours, the cooperation between two permanent members of the UN Security Council and the cooperation between two major emerging market countries. Its significance to the two countries, the Eurasian continent and the world at large is self-evident. China is ready to join hands with Russia in tapping potentials and innovating ways to push for more new outcomes of bilateral strategic cooperation. Li Keqiang appreciates the close cooperation and mutual help between China and Russia in fighting against the flood disaster in the Basin of the Heilongjiang River not long ago. He believes that it fully shows the strategic cooperation and profound friendship between the two countries.

Medvedev said, my meeting with Premier Li Keqiang is fruitful. Russia-China relations are comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership both in name and in fact. Russia is ready to further expand the scale of trade and investment with China, to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of energy, aviation, agriculture, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and to keep close coordination and cooperation so as to push Russia-China relations to continue to move ahead. Medvedev invited Li Keqiang to visit Russia next year and to co-chair the 19th regular meeting between Russian and Chinese Prime Ministers.
