Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze addresses at Speaker Dinner-Forum on Net Zero of 2023 International Conference on Material Innovation

On 23 August 2023,  Consul-General of China in Brisbane Dr RUAN Zongze was invited to address at Speaker Dinner-Forum on Net Zero of 2023 International Conference on Material Innovation (ICMI 2023).

Dr RUAN congratulated the successful holding of ICMI 2023 and expressed the appreciation and gratitude to the participants, for their contribution to the international cooperation between China and Australia. He said,over the past 50 years, the  fruitful achievements on pragmatic cooperation between China and Australia bring huge benefits to the two peoples. At this moment, the bilateral relations are facing new and important opportunities. China and Australia share common goals in dealing with global challenges such as climate change. It is expected that the academics from both countries will fully exchange views and build consensus through this conference, and promote more industry-university-research cooperation in the future.

Prof Chennupati Jagadish AC, President of the Australian Academy of Science, Prof ZHANG Tao, Vice-President of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr Rebecca Doolan, Department of Industry, Science and Resources, Australian Government, Mr CAI Jianing, Minister Counsellor for Science and Technology, Chinese Embassy in Australia, Emeritus Prof Max LU AO DL, President and Vice-Chancellor of The University of Surrey, Mr LI Rongyu, Vice-President of University of Queensland, and about 160 eminent academics from Chinese and Australian universities and research institutes attended the forum.
